Job Title: Writer

Your daily mission: To help us tell stories that get people talking.

Who are we?

Lloyd Rang Communications (LRC) is a small group of content experts and strategists with big dreams—and even bigger hearts.

We were founded just five years ago and we’re moving fast. We have clients across Canada, the U.S., and the U.K.

Our work is crafted by and for real people, and we value integrity, empathy and respect. The diversity, personality, and humanity of the people we work with is the most important part of the relationships we build, and the outcomes we achieve.

We make each other laugh, we’re always curious about the world around us, and we have a rule about only working for great people!

But most of all, our team supports each other like family.

From small startups to established companies, we listen well to our clients to ensure every piece of content we create is true and authentic to who they are. All of our insights are grounded in data and in experience. Once we discover the story we need to tell, our clients rely on our skills and experience to write that story so it gets people talking.

Who are you?

You’re a talented writer with a proven track record—and you’re an awesome human! You’ve got an entrepreneurial streak and want to help our company continue to evolve. And you’re okay with working remotely—but can join us in-person a couple of times a year!

P.S. Bonus points if you like sci-fi—but not a deal-breaker!

More specifically, we hope you’re:

  • A talented writer who can write a broad range of content.
  • A skilled interviewer and researcher who can read materials from a wide variety of sources, understand them, and weave them together in their writing.
  • A responsible project manager who will meet deadlines, keep our clients happy, and ensure everyone is on the same page.
  • A thoughtful consultant who will give our clients their best advice on how to use the content we create for them.

What will you do?

  • You’ll write all kinds of content for our clients, including core narratives, news releases, keynote speeches, social media content—maybe even a video script!
  • You’ll be curious, conducting in-depth interviews and research to discover all the pieces of the puzzle and fit them together into one great story.
  • You’ll manage projects well, juggling deadlines, communicating with clients, creating work plans, and keeping everyone in the loop so that deadlines are met and that everything runs like clockwork.
  • You’ll draw on your talent and/or experience not just to create content, but to give clients your best advice on how to use it.
  • You’ll be willing to grow with us, adapting to changing circumstances, learning new skills, and helping build our little company into a force to be reckoned with.
  • You’ll work on contract with us.
  • You’ll work from home—so hopefully you’ve got a home office setup that works for you!

Compensation is negotiable based on your talent and experience.

If you’re willing to boldly go and join our amazing team of humans, here’s what to do:

  1. Send your resume to our Chief Operating Officer, Tracey Sobers at [email protected]
  2. Include a couple writing samples you’re proud of
  3. Include a cover letter and send us an original piece of writing. It can be on any subject at all.

This opportunity will close March 2, 2022.
